The Vietnam Beef Cattle Project
is a multi-disciplinary, collaborative program involving researchers
in Vietnam and Australia. Sponsored by the Australian Centre for
International Agricultural Research, its objective is to explore
ways to make cattle production more profitable for more than 1million
village farmers involved in this key national industry.
The program comprises six Sub-Projects studying aspects of marketing,
calf production, forages, agro-industrial by-products, genetics
and health. More than eleven institutes and thirty researchers are
now involved in the study, which runs from 1999 to 2002.
This website is the main working document for researchers and others
in the program. The aim is to provide both a repository of information
and a forum for discussion. It will be continuously modified throughout
the project and updated with results, reports and news.
